CNY Chiefs Member Margaret Ryan is
Candidate for New York State Chiefs of Police
Seeks Third Vice Presidency in 2008

30, 2007 - Chief Margaret Ryan of the Dryden Police Department
announced her candidacy for Third Vice President of the New York State
Association of Chiefs of Police for 2008. Ryan first announced her
candidacy at the July 2007 conference in Alexandria Bay where she received
endorsements from the Mid-Hudson Association of Police Chiefs, Western New
York Police Chiefs Association and the Central New York Association of
Chiefs of Police. Chief Ryan has already been in discussion with many
State Chief's Association members and colleagues to discuss the emerging
issues which we are facing today in law enforcement.
Chief
Ryan said, "If elected I will aggressively support the objectives of New
York State Chiefs 'to achieve professional recognition, uniformity of operation
and the advancement of the general welfare of the police profession through the
education of its members.'” Ryan served as President of Central New York
Chiefs and continues to serve on various community boards and private foundation
boards. She is also an active member of the New York State Association of Chiefs
of Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Tompkins
County Municipal Police Chiefs Association and the Tompkins/Cortland County Law
Enforcement Administrators Association. She is a law enforcement trainer and
fully supports the Law Enforcement Accreditation program.
Ryan
said, "Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to meet with my
colleagues to find innovative solutions to our common problems. As Third Vice
President I pledge to continue the legacy of our great organization and I will
work diligently for you!"
